Workshop Foreman

Salary: Competitive
Location: Wigan

Workshop Foreman

Hours: 08.00 – 17.00, Monday – Friday. Overtime as and when required.


As with all roles at CRH Plant, reasonable flexibility is a requirement of the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring workshop administration work is completed, signed off and filed in a timely manner
  • Ensuring safe working practices are maintained at all times
  • Processing customer damage/loss notifications
  • Cost control
  • Co-ordinating a team of maintenance fitters to ensure assets are maintained as per our internal procedures.
  • Servicing and preventative maintenance of plant assets.
  • Assistance with technical fault finding in both hydraulic and electrical fields.
  • Passing on technical knowledge to other members of staff. Including training.
  • Working closely with apprentices whilst carrying out repairs.

Role Requirements:

  • Good communicator
  • Previous leadership experience is desirable although consideration will be given to somebody with the right aptitude
  • Previous experience in construction plant maintenance is essential including hydraulics and electrics
  • NVQ Level 3 plant maintenance qualification is desirable, but applicants whom are time served will be equally considered.
  • Familiarisation with compaction equipment -though machine specific training will be provided
  • CSCS card holder – though the company will provide this if required
  • Flexibility to work with other members of staff including apprentices
  • Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office
  • Full UK driving licence

Field Service Engineer

Salary: Competitive
Location: x1 Wigan/ x2 Essex

Field Service Engineer

Hours: 08.00 – 17.00, Monday – Friday. Overtime as and when required.

Responsibilities:

  • On-site maintenance of plant.
  • On site servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Assistance with technical fault finding in both hydraulic and electrical fields.
  • Passing on technical knowledge to other members of staff. Including training.
  • Working closely with apprentices whilst carrying out repairs.
  • Ensuring service reports are complete after completing required repairs.

Role Requirements:

  • Previous plant maintenance experience is essential including hydraulics
  • NVQ Level 3 plant maintenance qualification is desirable, but applicants whom are time served will be equally considered.
  • Familiarisation with compaction equipment -though machine specific training will be provided
  • CSCS card holder – though the company will provide this if required
  • Flexibility to work with other members of staff including apprentices.
  • Full UK driving licence
